This is an old world romance set in modern times, in the small city of Bhopal in Middle India. Chintu is an innocent, slightly overweight boy who is destined to get married at 23, like everyone else in his large joint family, comprising of thirteen members.

In a large family such as his, all major life decisions are taken by everyone else, except the people most affected by it. Chintu is resigned to his fate, and has accepted the fact that he will soon be married to a practical stranger, until one day he bumps into Chinki and falls head over heels in love with her.

Unlike Chintu, Chinky comes from a small, liberal family and is very independent and assertive. She is encouraged by her grandmother to fall in love and spend the rest of her life with someone she cares about deeply, (which is quite liberal for the small, conservative community that she comes from).

Soon after their first encounter, the two engage in a whirlwind, small town romance that includes stolen glances, love letters, stolen dates in parks and family opposition, all the highs and lows that first love brings.

Although Chintu and Chinky overcome the initial obstacles, their biggest challenge lies ahead of them, to adjust to a new environment and let their love continue to blossom in a conservative, joint-family setting.
